SINGULARITY, 2019
Multi-channel video, stereo-sound installation
A photographic installation series that explores the issues surrounding the modern age of mass surveillance culture. Each image is a fabricated reality that attempts to create a sense of realism and discomfort, an intrusion into ones sense of privacy. This series focuses on #1052006’s private moments and whereabouts, in an attempt to monitor their staged daily activities and rendering them as real scenarios.
Three different days are displayed in different projection formats to give us a different perspective, reading and feeling on each recording. It’s a small leap to imagine having all of our details and eta on display whenever a camera catches a glimpse of your face when you are out in public - this series is a collection of one individual and their moments from the everyday to the deeply personal in public spaces.
How deeply can this current surveillance culture intrude ones privacy?
